Pelikan Maki-e Phoenix Limited Edition fountain pen
3.800,00€Pelikan Maki-e „Phoenix“ fountain pen is a masterpiece that combines the craftsmanship of Pelikan Germany based on more than 180 years of tradition and technology coupled with superior Japanese traditional Maki-e painting techniques. Each Souverän M 1000 fountain is produced in Germany and then decorated in Japan. Every single pen has the Pelikan logo on the crown, a limited-edition number, and the artist’s signature drawn in by hand using Maki-e techniques. The “Phoenix”, released in the year 2022 is available in a limited edition of only 123 pieces worldwide.
Finely-chased 18 carat gold nibs in the size M, all accentuated with a rhodium décor.
Each fountain pen is presented in a traditional Japanese gift box which is made of Paulownia wood.
The writing qualities are carefully checked and tested by hand before it comes to you. Manufactured and assembled in Germany, refined in Japan.

Each stripe has individual shades and none is the same as the other. The highlight of this spectacular Limited Edition of the Souverän M800 is the golden ring. The fine lines are made using the diamond-point engraving technique and highlight the importance of the iconic crosshatch design of the Sou-verän models.
The iconic logo crowns the top of the cap and is outlined in green lacquer. Edition number engraved on the back of the shorts.

125,00€The Golden Beryl, by virtue of hailing from the M200 line, will feature gold plated trim. Amongst these gemstone inspired pens, that has been more the exception than the rule since only 2017’s Smoky Quartz was similarly appointed. The gold colored furniture will consist of a plated crown clip nut, a single cap band, a beak clip, and a single ring at the piston knob. The cap top will feature the company’s single chick logo and looks to be unique in that it appears to be made from the same translucent material that comprises the rest of the pen, something not often seen on the lower tier models. The M200 comes standard with a gold-plated stainless steel nib. Available widths will include the usual assortment of EF, F, M, and B. Some vendors will provide an upgrade to the 14C-585 gold nib that adorns the M400 Souverän for an upcharge.

A fountain pen with tradition. The body made of high‑grade metal shows a hand‑carved ornament and was treated with an elaborate damascening technique
The art of working with Damascus steel goes back thousands of years. It means that steel or iron objects are decorated by engraving a pattern into the surface. Next, a thin sheet of gold will be placed over the pattern and will be embossed deep into the material with the help of a little hammer. In order to show the newly filled pattern, the object will then be heated to approximately 800°C. By doing so, the steel surfaces will oxidize and turn black, while the gold starts to shine. This technique traveled with the Arabs into Spain and has been perfected throughout the centuries, particularly in the famous Spanish town Toledo.
