ATELIER SIMONI
Originally an Atelier (the “astelier”) was a laboratory where wood was worked.
Later it became a place of creation, of crafts, of fine arts where a group of expert artisans worked under the direction of a Master.
I still remember, in 1956, when my father, Armando Simoni, talking about future projects in which, despite my youth, I already saw myself. involved, he pronounced the word Atelier. It was the most fair and appropriate description for what he had created.
His exclusive Fountain Pens intended for a very selected audience capable of appreciating the small masterpieces that came from the expert hands of the artisans that he had personally trained, the highest quality, the technology, originated from the beginning not only an unmistakable style but also a own philosophy that becomes heritage of the family. Thus begins in that distant 1918 a history and a tradition that this year 2008 celebrates the 90th Anniversary of uninterrupted activity.
I have not forgotten this very special word, Atelier. My son Gianluca and I wanted to give meaning to this concept: AS ATELIER SIMONI

Namiki Yukari Grapevine Fountain Pen
The Japanese firm Namiki presents its collection of Yukari fountain pens decorated using the Maki-e technique (Togidashi and Taka Maki-e). All the pieces are true works of Japanese Art that represent scenes of nature.
This piece represents some vines. For the realization of each of these fountain pens, a long work and drying process is necessary, which makes these copies very limited pieces.
The best artists are highly sought after, making their work more valuable. All pieces are signed by the artist. Its nib is made of solid 18 kt gold.
Combining classic Namiki styling with a hand-applied Urushi finish, the Custom Urushi black Barrel is particularly notable for its gold design, which offers a distinctive contrast to the Yukari Royale black Urushi produced by Namiki.
The pen is filled using the Namiki or Pilot converter or cartridge system, which allows the use of brand cartridges or any fountain pen ink when using the provided converter. Even better, the converter in this case is Namiki’s high-capacity CON-70 model, which gives this pen a capacity that rivals or exceeds that of many piston fountain pens.

Pelikan Toledo – Fountain Pen M 700 gold
A fountain pen with tradition. The body made of high‑grade metal shows a hand‑carved ornament and was treated with an elaborate damascening technique
The art of working with Damascus steel goes back thousands of years. It means that steel or iron objects are decorated by engraving a pattern into the surface. Next, a thin sheet of gold will be placed over the pattern and will be embossed deep into the material with the help of a little hammer. In order to show the newly filled pattern, the object will then be heated to approximately 800°C. By doing so, the steel surfaces will oxidize and turn black, while the gold starts to shine. This technique traveled with the Arabs into Spain and has been perfected throughout the centuries, particularly in the famous Spanish town Toledo.
Dark green marbled lacquer punctuated with platinum-plated fittings. These are the style features of the new Writers Edition in honour of the distinguished Irish free thinker George Bernard Shaw. This fountain pen is inspired by Shaw’s best-known character from his play “Pygmalion”: Eliza Doolittle. Just as Eliza, a poor flower girl, is brought up to be an aristocratic lady, so the fine platinum of the pen is replaced more and more towards the cap by the opulent dark green of the precious resin.
– Launch: 2008
– Rhodium-plated 18 K gold nib with flower engraving
– Body in dark green marbled luxury resin with platinum-plated fittings
– Montblanc emblem made of ivory-coloured antique resin

The engraved 1888 on the barrel ring – next to Vincent’s signature in bright orange – commemorates the year when he moved to Arles.
While the barrel is decorated in shades of yellow and orange reflecting the sun-drenched landscapes of southern France, the famous series of five sunflower paintings inspired the interpretation embossed on the handcrafted Au 750 solid gold, rhodium-coated nib.
Van Gogh developed a looser, freer style and becoming equally competent with brush and palette knife – which he used for chunky, impetuous “impasto” work.
His palette knife inspired the platinum-coated clip, while his sweeping brushwork is immortalized in the yellow lacquer of the cap top. Furthermore, his fondness for pipe smoking, to which he referred in many of his self-portraits, is captured in a subtle detail of the clip: the upper part is shaped like a pipe’s bowl and filled with yellow precious resin.
As homage for Vincent’s fascination of traditional Japanese woodblock prints, the overall shape is inspired by a Japanese woodcutting knife while the cap is made from wood. The edition is crowned by a Montblanc emblem made of yellow precious resin.
