Taking inspiration from these brilliantly colored mosaics, S.T.Dupont has designed a collection of exceptional objects that combine platinum, Chinese lacquer and turquoise, a tribute to the brand’s craftsmanship.
The square motifs that decorate these precious items feature guilloché work in an interlocking geometric style. The rich cameo of blues, using three different colors of Chinese lacquer and inlaid turquoise, evokes the colors of the jeweled glaze on the tiles.

Under seven centuries of Muslim rule, Andalusia became a cultural and economic focal point, accompanied by a flourishing architecture. Masterpieces built during this period include La Mezquita in Cordoba, La Giralda in Seville and the Alhambra in Grenada. The Moors introduced the art of making azulejos, or tiles, leaving us a legacy of magnificent mosaics with complex geometric designs. These ceramic tiles are decorated in shades of blue, green, black, white and ochre.
The southern Spanish region of Andalusia is extremely rich in history, due to the succession of different civilisations that thrived there for thousands of years. After the arrival of the Romans in 216 B.C. and their 700-year stay, the Vandals conquered the region in the 5th century. They called it Vandalitia, from which the name Andalusia originated. The Visigoths then established their kingdom in the area until the Moors displaced them in 711. The Catholic kings of Spain began their battle against the Moorish conquerors in 1212, finally defeating them in 1492.
Drawing its inspiration from these brightly coloured mosaics, S.T.Dupont has designed a collection of exceptional objects combining platinum, Chinese lacquer and turquoise, a tribute to the brand’s craftsmanship.
The square motifs decorating these precious articles feature intertwined geometric-style guilloche work. The rich cameo of blues, using three different colours of Chinese lacquer and inlaid turquoise, evokes the jewelled enamel colours of azulejos.
This exceptional limited edition is made up of two pocket lighters, a Ligne 2 and a small Ligne 2, numbered from 1 to 3,000, a table lighter numbered from 1 to 300, and an Olympio fountain pen and ballpoint numbered from 1 to 2,500.

The ink is fed either by a piston converter or by a cartridge.Each of the Yukari fountain pens requires, as do the Emperors, three months and sometimes more of expert, loving and minute craftsmanship.
Such is the time that must be devoted to bringing to perfection the ornamental grace, true to the Maki-e craft, mingling polychromatic lacquers and gold dust.The Maki-e, a decorating technique patiently refined by Nipponese artists over the centuries, came to full bloom in the 14th and 15th centuries A. D., when, as it was highly sought by the aristocracy, it came to enrich the looks of the implements used in the tea ceremony.
Maki-e is part and parcel of the cultural heritage of old Japan. It involves no less than thirty some different processes, that concur in decors of utmost subtlety and unrivalled luxury.
Patiently and serenely adorned following the rules of that ancestral craft, the fountain pens in the Yukari collection sing in praise of a civilisation foregone.
Only those to whom time is irrelevant may decorate with infinitesimal paintbrush strokes, these loving birds, symbol of longevity, fruitful life, borrowed from the mythology of ancient Japan.

Original price was: 2.500,00€.2.100,00€Current price is: 2.100,00€.Place Vendome Paris, the eternal city of light, is enriched by its places for romantic strolls, such as the banks of the Seine or the Pont des Arts, its literary quarters. such as Saint-Germain-des Pres, its Haussmann-style grey stone buildings, and its many internationally-renowned squares.
Place Vendome, commissioned by King Louis XIV and designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, architect of the Palace of Versailles, is defined by its majestic proportions and a strong sense of symmetry, as well as by its octagonal shape, unique in the world. A large number of sophisticated sculptures embellish the sand-coloured stone of its buildings. It is also one of the most emblematic squares of French 17th century architecture. Following his victory at Austerlitz at the beginning of the 19th century, Napolean enriched the square by erecting the Vendome Column, made using the bronze from cannons left behind by the Austrians after the battle.
S.T. Dupont has engraved into each palladium cap and barrel, a quote from Napoleon: “Impossible n’est pas Francais” (Impossible is not French). Each Place Vendome pen features eight hematite stones hand placed into the cap and an individual serial number from the 1810 pieces produced worldwide.
