Some collectors will recognize this extraordinary pen as it reminds of its predecessor from 1992. However, is not identical.
The one-piece cap and filling knob rings, each with a glossy and satin finish, give this fountain pen an extraordinary look. The green-transparent components allow a view of the piston mechanism and also the ink level.
As usual, the fountain pens of this Souverän series M800 Green Demonstrator are made of high-quality components. The rings and the traditional beak like clip are finished with 24-carat gold. Quality, made in Germany.

The art of working with Damascus steel goes back thousands of years. It means that steel or iron objects are decorated by engraving a pattern into the surface. Next, a thin sheet of gold will be placed over the pattern and will be embossed deep into the material with the help of a little hammer. In order to show the newly filled pattern, the object will then be heated to approximately 800°C. By doing so, the steel surfaces will oxidize and turn black, while the gold starts to shine. This technique traveled with the Arabs into Spain and has been perfected throughout the centuries, particularly in the famous Spanish town Toledo. -

The nibs of the Souverän piston filler M1000 and M800 are made of 18 carat/750 gold, the nibs of the models M600, M400 and M300 consist of 14 carat/585 gold. All nibs are refined with a rhodium decor and their writing qualities were tested by hand. The fountain pens are equipped with a differential piston-filling mechanism, of which is elaborated with high-value brazen components on the models M1000 and M800.
