Pluma Estilográfica Montblanc Great Characters Elvis Presley 1935
3.550,00€Elvis Presley is still regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century – the “King of Rock’n Roll” who shaped a generation. Born in 1935, Tupelo, Mississippi, and relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, Elvis Presley became one of the most famous musicians. The overall shape of the writing instrument is in the form of a car engine’s spark plug, inspired by Elvis’ love for V8 engines, as well as the shape of the clip. Pattern on cap and barrel from the finishing of the Golden ring he wore during the “Aloha from Hawaii” concert. Clip has a V shape coming from Elvis’ love of Cadillacs and their V8 Engine, and the “EP” from his signature style sunglasses.
Montblanc Honors ‘The King’ With Great Characters Elvis Presley Limited Edition 1935
Published: November 12, 2020 | By: American Luxury StaffThe latest entry in Montblanc’s Great Characters series is homage to the King—of rock-‘n-roll, that is.
In creating trophy writing instruments that hail to the King—something of a pop chameleon long before Bowie—you might think the venerable company had to pack in a huge amount of varied details, from jailhouse stripes to jumbo guitars, plentiful sequins to deep-fried peanut butter-and-banana sandwiches.
Of course, Montblanc took the pop cultural road less traveled. The gold entry in the set brings the Hawaii suit into focus, but the designs also highlight details of Elvis’ life and personality that include more obscure imagery like a spark plug and a V-shaped clip, choices arising from Elvis’ appreciation for larger cars, especially Cadillacs, His golden ring, and a riff on the aviator shades that were part of his allure also pop up on the pens.
Accessories accompanying the various pens include a set of cufflinks, a notebook that takes inspiration from his Hawaii stage outfit, and a copy of Elvis’ bracelet.
