Exclusive fountain pen “Spirit of Gaudí” from Pelikan.
A Tribute to the Master.
The prestigious german Company of writing instruments Pelikan, launches an exclusive fountain pen inspired on one of the doorways made on wrought iron created for “La Pedrera”, by Antoni Gaudí.
The original case made on silver plated zamac it is inspired on the chimneys of the roof.
The team of designers of Solé Creativos, together with the Gaudí Club and Pelikan have been working in this design since more than one year and are proud to present this exclusive piece of which only 1.000 numbered units have been produced pieces for all the world.
Day and night, the figures overlooking the roof of La Pedrera have an almost living, breathing appearance. In fact they are the chimneys and ventilation ducts of the building. Perhaps Gaudí wanted them to have the same function as that given to gargoyles on medieval churches: to keep away the bad spirits. Or maybe they represented beings that inhabited his unconscious and wandered through his dreams.
With these anthropomorphic aspects in mind, two pieces of solid, silver-plated zamac (metal alloy) are combined perfectly to produce a fantastic sculpture. The material, quality and exclusiveness of the figure make the case a unique and evocative decorative object.
The Fountain Pen
Gaudí’s skill in working wrought iron reached its zenith in the marvellous doorways he created for the Casa Milà. They possess a totally modern character and, at the same time, the organic aspect so characteristic of Gaudí’s later works. The curved and irregular lines continue and enrich the undulating lines of the building.
The solid sterling silver of the fountain pen forms a sculptural grille like that of the doorways of La Pedrera. The black body enhances the detailed and artistic work, giving the pen a serious and elegant appearance. The clip is made of solid nickel silver and the nib is 18-carat gold, hand-certified and totally rhodium-plated.
