Namiki Yukari Bamboo Fountain pen maki-e new First Edition
3.500,00€This Namiki maki-e fountain pen was created by maki-e artisan Mamoru in Japan. It features the Togidashi Maki-e technique (burnished maki-e), depicting bamboo trees. The pen has an 18kt gold nib (#10), fills via cartridge/converter (a CON-70 is included), and comes packaged in a wooden box with a bottle of ink.
The Yukari Collection vividly expresses the nature of the four seasons, which the Japanese have been familiar with since ancient times, by combining designs with various techniques such as Togidashi-Taka Maki-e (Burnished-Raised Maki-e) and Raden (Mother-of-Pearl). While being a size that can be carried and used every day, it harbors Japanese beauty down to the finest detail.
As these pens are truly one-of-a-kind pieces of art, they are warrantied for life by Namiki.
Please allow us up to several extra days for shipping of this pen. Please also note we are unable to accept a return of this pen for any reason once it has been used with ink. Please thoroughly inspect and dry test the pen before use.

Namiki Yukari size Bamboo Fountain pen maki-e new
3.500,00€The fountain pens in the Yukari collection by Namiki are delicate works of art, signed by their author, whose motif, borrowed from the symbols of Japanese tradition, has been engraved free-hand on copper-plate.
The ink is fed either by a piston converter or by a cartridge. Each of the Yukari fountain pens requires, as do the Emperors, three months and sometimes more of expert, loving and minute craftsmanship.
Such is the time that must be devoted to bringing to perfection the ornamental grace, true to the Maki-e craft, mingling polychromatic lacquers and gold dust. The Maki-e, a decorating technique patiently refined by Nipponese artists over the centuries, came to full bloom in the 14th and 15th centuries A. D., when, as it was highly sought by the aristocracy, it came to enrich the looks of the implements used in the tea ceremony.
Maki-e is part and parcel of the cultural heritage of old Japan. It involves no less than thirty some different processes, that concur in decors of utmost subtlety and unrivalled luxury.
Patiently and serenely adorned following the rules of that ancestral craft, the fountain pens in the Yukari collection sing in praise of a civilisation foregone.
Only those to whom time is irrelevant may decorate with infinitesimal paintbrush strokes, these loving birds, symbol of longevity, fruitful life, borrowed from the mythology of ancient Japan.
Total length (cap closed) : 142 mm Total length with cap posted behind the barrel : 157 mm Barrel diameter: 12 mm

PELIKAN Souverän® Stresemann M405 fountain pen
295,00€The foreign minister of the Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1879- 1929), was honored with the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1926: Together with his French colleague Aristide Briand, he was acknowleged for his reconciliatory work between the nations after World War I. Besides his impressive political career, Stresemann also became famous for the creation of a new kind of suit that was still sufficiently formal for official presentations and yet comfortable enough for his work at the office. Stresemann liked to wear suits with thin stripes, and, as life sometimes goes, a legend developed … and suddenly, people called the striped fountain pens from Pelikan — that were just then starting their global tour of success around the world — by the name of „Stresemann“.
Both the suits and the pens still carry that name to this day. To officially acknowledge and honor this legend, Pelikan has now named the latest addition to the standard collection, the Souverän with elegant stripes in anthracite, the „Stresemann“.
The barrel with the deceptively simple anthracite stripes is made of cellulose acetate, using a traditional process that‘s extremely work-intensive. For the black, finely turned pieces, high-quality resin was used. The clip and the rings are plated with palladium. The gold nib is completely rhodinized to obtain a silver sheen. Every single writing instrument is mounted by hand and carefully checked to fulfill the strictest quality criteria. This elegant series is available in the sizes 405 and 805 as fountain pen, ballpoint pen or rollerball.
