A ring of genuine celluloid in the shape of a filmstrip encircles the shaft and four red rubies pinpoint the center of each artfully incorporated palladium-plated star. These elements combine to commemorate the epic moments of Hollywood cinematics. Classic black along with sterling silver enhancements provides a timeless elegance. Strictly limited: the serial number of each Limited Edition Silver Screen fountain pen is engraved and marked on the filling handle.

This exclusive fountain pen, limited to a run of only 420, pays homage to more than 100 years of film history. Celluloid in this new Limited Edition Silver Screen pen represents that used in early motion pictures.
In 1887 Hannibal Goodwin developed the roll film utilizing celluloid as a new photographic medium which laid the foundation for the film industry. And, in doing so, he created much more than just a new film imaging material: he made it possible to share moments of joy and laughter, all through the magic of movies. It wasn’t until the advent of celluloid that stars such as Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe or James Dean became world famous. But the beginning wasn’t easy: the films were originally fused with cellulose nitrate and were extremely flammable, almost bursting into flames upon contact with heat. A dangerous characteristic that was finally eliminated with the refinement of film material in the 1950s.

Dragonfly
Dragonflies are famous for their exceptional flying properties. As they only fly forward and never go backwards, they are considered as a lucky symbol in Japanese mythology representing endurance and perseverance. During the age of wars in Japan, Samurai used the design of dragonflies as an ornament for their ordnance.
There are five dragonflies vividly drawn on the beautiful background of the fountain pen barrel. This background depicts ‘Tsugigami”, a traditional Japanese paper made by connecting various pieces of paper. The image of the dragonfly is created by using many different Maki-e techniques such as Raden, Byakutan-nuri, Kawarinuri and Togidashi-Taka-Maki-e. -

295,00€The foreign minister of the Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1879- 1929), was honored with the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1926: Together with his French colleague Aristide Briand, he was acknowleged for his reconciliatory work between the nations after World War I. Besides his impressive political career, Stresemann also became famous for the creation of a new kind of suit that was still sufficiently formal for official presentations and yet comfortable enough for his work at the office. Stresemann liked to wear suits with thin stripes, and, as life sometimes goes, a legend developed … and suddenly, people called the striped fountain pens from Pelikan — that were just then starting their global tour of success around the world — by the name of „Stresemann“.
Both the suits and the pens still carry that name to this day. To officially acknowledge and honor this legend, Pelikan has now named the latest addition to the standard collection, the Souverän with elegant stripes in anthracite, the „Stresemann“.
The barrel with the deceptively simple anthracite stripes is made of cellulose acetate, using a traditional process that‘s extremely work-intensive. For the black, finely turned pieces, high-quality resin was used. The clip and the rings are plated with palladium. The gold nib is completely rhodinized to obtain a silver sheen. Every single writing instrument is mounted by hand and carefully checked to fulfill the strictest quality criteria. This elegant series is available in the sizes 405 and 805 as fountain pen, ballpoint pen or rollerball.
