Only 99 pieces of Namiki Yabusame Limited Edition are being made for this collection. The pen cap depicts the scent of early spring Sakura blooming in full view.
Illustrated in highly skilled traditional art of Togidashi (Burnished) Maki-e techniques and taka maki-e (raised relief), the cherry blossom is seen as if growing out of the cap.
Namiki Chinkin Yukari size Pine Tree fountain pen
The Chinkin Collection is made up of fountain pens which use “Chinkin (Gold Inlay)”, one of lacquer ware techniques that Japan boasts to the world on a par with Maki-e. Motifs are carved into the lacquered surface with special chisels, and after inlaying lacquer in the grooves, placing gold leaves and gold powder gives the pattern expression. The delicate and fine depiction and three-dimensional aspect overflowing with a strong power of expression are the special characteristics of this collection. Since Chinkin is a carving technique, there is no room for mistakes. Every single carve is a true challenge in the sense of the word.

Namiki Yukari Royale Tabane-noshi (Noshi Bundle) Maki-e Fountain Pen
Noshi are long, thin strips of dried abalone used to wrap gifts after use in Shinto rituals. Today, it is used as a decorative accompaniment to gifts and presents on auspicious occasions. These abalone strips are a symbol of good luck known as Tabane-noshi (Noshi Bundle). This design elegantly depicts waves of multi-colored Noshi, bound together and flaring out.
