The Montegrappa Citta D’ Arte Venezia fountain pen pays homage to Italy’s culture and tradition; primarily the world renowned city of Venice.
This sterling silver fountain pen was created using the ancient die-casting technique as well as a wax casting technique that is later finished by hand.
The pairing of the Eternal bird with its companion Dragon is underlined in numerous analogies: style and dimension of the pen, the same artist’s hand, the same packaging, a precious inkwell in a very limited edition.
The Montegrappa Eternal Bird Silver Fountain Pen features die-casting sculpture applied to the pen barrel and cap made of bright red celluloid.
Red has a symbolic significance of the phoenix and of its very name. (Phoenix derives from the Greek word meaning ‘red’).
THE EYES OF THE BIRD
The red motif is repeated in the eyes of the bird which are represented by two brilliant-cut rubies.
Limited to 1912 pieces world-wide
The Montegrappa Barbiere di Siviglia Silver Fountain Pen is a tribute to the renowned and loved Barber of Seville opera. Crafted in Sterling silver with a blue celluloid cap and barrel, the pen reflects the story: Count Almaviva enlists Figaro the barber to help woo Rosina, the secret passion of her lecherous guardian Don Bartolo.
To capture the spirit of Rossini’s masterwork, Montegrappa has employed ancient die-casting techniques. The Montegrappa Barbiere di Siviglia Silver Fountain Pen begins with a sculpture meticulously hand-fashioned by an artist over a period of many months, ensuring that the pens which result from the effort are works of art in their own right. To capture the details and finesse of the sculpture, Montegrappa works precious metals with the lost wax casting technique, the emergent form finished by hand.
