Combining classic Namiki styling with a hand-applied Urushi finish, the Custom Urushi red Barrel is particularly notable for its gold design, which offers a distinctive contrast to the Yukari Royale Red Urushi produced by Namiki.
The pen is filled using the Namiki or Pilot converter or cartridge system, which allows the use of brand cartridges or any fountain pen ink when using the provided converter. Even better, the converter in this case is Namiki’s high-capacity CON-70 model, which gives this pen a capacity that rivals or exceeds that of many piston fountain pens.

Namiki Yukari Royale Tabane-noshi (Noshi Bundle) Maki-e Fountain Pen
Noshi are long, thin strips of dried abalone used to wrap gifts after use in Shinto rituals. Today, it is used as a decorative accompaniment to gifts and presents on auspicious occasions. These abalone strips are a symbol of good luck known as Tabane-noshi (Noshi Bundle). This design elegantly depicts waves of multi-colored Noshi, bound together and flaring out.

YUKARI ROYALE CHINKIN ROYAL ROOSTER /GALL
The Chinkin Collection is made up of fountain pens which use “Chinkin (Gold Inlay)”, one of lacquer ware techniques that Japan boasts to the world on a par with Maki-e. Motifs are carved into the lacquered surface with special chisels, and after inlaying lacquer in the grooves, placing gold leaves and gold powder gives the pattern expression.
The pen fills using Pilot’s convenient cartridge-converter system, which allows for the use of either Pilot brand cartridges or any bottled fountain pen ink when using the provided converter. Even better, the converter in this case is Pilot’s high-capacity CON-70 model, which gives this pen a capacity rivaling or surpassing that of many piston-filers.
This Pilot Custom Urushi lacquered ebonite fountain pen was created by maki-e artisans (kokkokai) in Japan. It features the Roiro Urushi technique in solid red. The pen has a broad two-tone 18kt gold large #30 nib. A Con-70 converter is included, but you can also use Pilot cartridges if you prefer. It comes packaged in a gift box.
