PELIKAN STARDUST RADEN FOUNTAIN PEN BY HOSHUKAI
LIMITED EDITION: Raden Stardust
A Universe in Your Hand: The Pelikan Limited Edition Raden M1000 Stardust “Hoshikuzu”
The Pelikan Raden Limited Edition is the remarkable result of a meeting between two exceptional traditions: Pelikan’s German mastery of fine writing instruments, supported by more than 185 years of craftsmanship and innovation, and the exquisite decorative art of centuries-old Japanese techniques.
The M1000 Stardust “Hoshikuzu” is a poetic tribute to stardust scattered across the night sky, a vision brought to life by the renowned artist Yamazaki Mushu and his collective, “Hoshu-kai,” a respected group of Kaga maki-e masters based in Yamanaka Onsen, Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Created using the ancient Raden technique, this masterpiece begins with a smooth layer of deep black Japanese Urushi lacquer, evoking the depth of the cosmos. Three different types of finely crushed abalone shell are then meticulously applied in vertical streaks using a traditional Funzutsu (powder tube). As light strikes the surface, an iridescent shimmer dances across the pen, revealing flashes of violet, blue, green, and silver, like distant stars in the night sky.
The delicate Raden work is encapsulated beneath layers of transparent lacquer, then carefully polished and refined over time to achieve a brilliant, crystal-like finish. Complemented by radiant 24-karat gold-plated accents, including Pelikan’s iconic beak clip and two cap rings, the pen exudes timeless elegance and luxury.
Each M1000 Stardust is individually signed by the artist and features a limited-edition number applied using the maki-e technique. The fountain pen is presented in an elegant paulownia wood box, reflecting the reverence, dedication, and artistry invested in its creation.
We are proud to present the Pelikan Raden M1000 Stardust “Hoshikuzu”—a cosmic fusion of East and West, tradition and innovation, where every shimmering streak tells a story of celestial wonder.
