FABER CASTELL CLASSIC PLATINUM
The Classic range uniquely combines the warm, natural character of wood with the cool elegance of platinum-plated surfaces. In the different versions, they combine grooved bodies bathed in platinum or in Pernambuco, ebony or grenadille wood with platinum finishes. The natural variations in color and texture make each of the pieces made with these woods unique and unrepeatable.
Cartridge/converter system that is gently removed from the body by twisting the cap
Hand-tested bicolour 18-carat gold nib with iridium tip
The manufacturing process consists of more than a hundred steps, most of them done by hand
The Souverän 605 White-Transparent is encased in a specially designed gift box. This elegant series will be available as piston fountain pen and a ballpoint pen by mid of October 2017.
The Guilloche writing instruments made of precious resin are distinguished by a special process. Each one is engraved individually using a method otherwise reserved for jewellery or silver accessories. The barrel is then hand-lacquered and repeatedly polished. The result is a unique and most interesting surface texture. No two writing implements are identical: each is an individual example of the craftsman’s art.

The foreign minister of the Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1879- 1929), was honored with the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1926: Together with his French colleague Aristide Briand, he was acknowleged for his reconciliatory work between the nations after World War I. Besides his impressive political career, Stresemann also became famous for the creation of a new kind of suit that was still sufficiently formal for official presentations and yet comfortable enough for his work at the office. Stresemann liked to wear suits with thin stripes, and, as life sometimes goes, a legend developed … and suddenly, people called the striped fountain pens from Pelikan — that were just then starting their global tour of success around the world — by the name of „Stresemann“.
Both the suits and the pens still carry that name to this day. To officially acknowledge and honor this legend, Pelikan has now named the latest addition to the standard collection, the Souverän with elegant stripes in anthracite, the „Stresemann“.
The barrel with the deceptively simple anthracite stripes is made of cellulose acetate, using a traditional process that‘s extremely work-intensive. For the black, finely turned pieces, high-quality resin was used. The clip and the rings are plated with palladium. The gold nib is completely rhodinized to obtain a silver sheen. Every single writing instrument is mounted by hand and carefully checked to fulfill the strictest quality criteria. This elegant series is available in the sizes 405 and 805 as fountain pen, ballpoint pen or rollerball.

The Craft of Travelling
What began in 1888 as George S. Parker’s simple mantra of striving to make a better and more inspirational pen, is today celebrated with the limited edition release of 1,300 unique Duofold masterpieces. Each one pays tribute to their founder’s relentless curiosity about the world, passion for travel and global cultures, and commitment to the craft of writing.
Each of the Duofold’s 22 hand-assembled components have been carefully crafted to make it nothing less than extraordinary.
A SUBLIME WRITING EXPERIENCE
The 18kt solid gold (bi-colour) nib features a compass design, which represents the science of navigation and the old-world steamships George used during his journeys.
A Luxurious Gift Box Inspired By Vintage-Style Luggage
The box lid features a world map highlighting all the countries George visited during his global travels.
George’s Travels
From Tahiti to Tonga, the New Caledonian Islands to China, George always used his faithful Duofold to document his experiences in a travel journal. He believed this not only preserved his memories, but also strengthened them. The thrill of travelling and his appreciation for global cultures inspired George’s creativity and many of his iconic designs for Parker.

PLATINUM-PLATED, CURLY BIRCH
With great precision, five slivers of ‘curly’ birch are inserted in the platinum-plated frames of the fountain pen and rollerball pen. A special process has made it possible to cut such thin pieces from this wood, which is very delicate on account of its attractive patterning. That takes a degree of skill otherwise found only in the cutting and polishing of gemstones. The warm colour of the wood, full of nuances, harmonizes wonderfully with the carnelian that is let into the cap and glows an intense red. The name Graf von Faber-Castell is engraved in the end piece in runes.
The family of all color-marbled writing instruments in the Classic series will be enhanced: with the new color version Brown-Marbled.

This Pilot Custom Urushi lacquered ebonite fountain pen was created by maki-e artisans (kokkokai) in Japan. It features the Roiro Urushi technique in solid black. The pen has a broad two-tone 18kt gold large #30 nib. A Con-70 converter is included, but you can also use Pilot cartridges if you prefer. It comes packaged in a gift box.
Lacquering has been used in Japan for thousands of years. The Pilot Custom Urushi is crafted from Japanese ebonite and lacquered using only pure Urushi lacquer. Like their Namiki pens, Pilot uses a lacquering technique called Roiro, which requires substantial time and skill to create a uniform and mirror-like finish. Each Custom Urushi pen is lacquered, cured, and polished three times to create a beautiful quality result.
